The tour includes a drive from Tana to Miandrivazo, a boat trip from Miandrivazo to Antsiraraka, a drive in a 4x4 vehicle to the Tsingy and a trip down to Morondava.


Below, you can find the detailed itinerary with the relevant information. It is normally a 7-day tour starting from Antsirabe to Morondava :

1st day : About a 5-hour drive from Antsirabe to Miandrivazo in a private car. Overnight in a hotel.


2nd day : After the necessary formalities at the Mayor’s office and the police station in Miandrivazo, it is already the beginning of the first day of the boat trip. Admire the beautiful landscape, varieties of birds and, hopefully some chameleons.


3rd day : Second day of the river trip : the boat passes along the impressive gorges of Bemaraha and forests on both sides of the river, so tourists are often fortunate enough to spot some species of lemurs. Lunch break takes place at a spectacular waterfall with a natural pool at its base.


4th day : Some bats hanging over the cliffs, more lemurs and perhaps some crocodiles can be the highlights of this last day of the boat trip. Immediately after the farewell to the boat, there will be a transfer to the village of Antsiraraka for an overnight in a hotel under the shade of a huge baobab tree.

5th day : Heading for the ‘Tsingy’ in a 4x4 vehicle.


6th day : Exploring the small and the big “Tsingy”.


7th day. The trip down to Morondava in a 4x4 vehicle is marked with a couple of breaks to see the baobabs : sacred baobab, loving baobabs and the famous Avenue of Baobabs at sunset.

Note that a five-day tour can also be arranged for you by leaving the ‘Tsingy’ visits out.

After the river trip, you can immediately go down to Morondava with the 4x4 vehicle.
